An American girl in Italy 1951 by Ruth Orkin |
Its the place... Italy
Its the style of dress, boho even for 1951
It's the fact that this is not a model but a real girl traveler
The photo was taken by
Ruth Orkin (1921 – 1985)
Here are a few more pics taken on the same day, same girl
This fabulous non model was called Jinx...suits her I think
i love that photo too. she is so vulnerable. i feel both like her at times, and like her ooglers also...

ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo.
I love this postcard; how its in black and white. It brings out the vintage feel of it all. But I can see her discomfort as she has so many men staring at her... I would hate that too.
